Early Life in Vadnagar
Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, to Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Hiraba Modi. Helped his father at their tea stall at the Vadnagar railway station.
Spiritual Journey
Left home to travel across India, visiting various ashrams and seeking spiritual and personal growth.
Joining the RSS
Officially became a full-time pracharak in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Actively participated in the 1974 Navnirman movement and during the Emergency (1975–1977).
Higher Education
Completed his Master of Arts in Political Science from Gujarat University.
Entry into the BJP
Transitioned to mainstream politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. Quickly rose to become the General Secretary of the BJP's Gujarat unit.
Chief Minister of Gujarat
Sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. His tenure focused on strengthening infrastructure and the state economy. This period included the 2002 Gujarat riots, after which a Supreme Court-appointed SIT cleared him of complicity.
14th Prime Minister of India
Elected as the Prime Minister of India with a historic mandate, beginning his first term with a focus on financial inclusion and infrastructure.
Re-election to Second Term
Returned to power with an even larger majority. Focus expanded to sweeping welfare programs, digitalization, and global standing.
Historic Third Term
Secured a third consecutive term as Prime Minister, focusing on the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) by 2047.
